Vice Chancellor of Fareast International University (FIU) signed the charter for the FIU’s joining to the Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) of International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) as full institutional member on June 02, 2024. The Himalayan University Consortium (HUC) is a research collaboration platform for the member universities to work for the betterment of quality of environment and people of The Hindu Kush Himalayan Region where Bangladesh is a part through the attachment of Chittagong Hill Tracks. HUC encourages academics and researchers of the member universities to initiate research and academic environments for thematic development of mountain related paradigm.
The event was inaugurated at the University of Chittagong Campus by its Vice Chancellor where Vice Chancellors of Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University and Bandarban University were present. Representatives from University of Dhaka, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Noakhali Science and Technology University and United International University (UIU) were also present at the event.
